The Paralympic Games are an important event not only for the sports world, but also for the whole society. They are proof that despite obstacles, people with disabilities can achieve exceptional achievements and inspire us all. This event is a key step towards the integration and support of people with disabilities.
Slovakia has a strong presence in the world of Paralympic sport. Our Paralympians have achieved extraordinary success in the past and repeated them this year. Our successful Paralympians include:
- Jozef Metelka (paracycling) – multiple gold medalist at the Paralympic Games and world champion
- Henrieta Farkašová (alpine skiing) – gold medalist and considered one of the best Paralympians in history
- Veronika Vadovičová (shooting) – multiple gold medalist and world record holder
These athletes are a great inspiration for all of us. Their perseverance, courage and determination teach us that no obstacle is insurmountable. They have our full support and admiration and we believe that they will once again show the world what they can do.
