The Government of the Slovak Republic created the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as the "Ministry") with the aim of strengthening the efficient use of public resources and potential in the field of tourism and sport. This separate ministry will provide more comprehensive support for both sectors, including education. Through state policy instruments, the Ministry will create favourable conditions for the support and continuous development of young talents, not only in the field of sports, but also in tourism, the gastronomic sector and the hotel industry.

In the field of tourism, these initiatives aim to strengthen all forms of education in the sector – for example, by creating accredited courses for vocational school teachers. These activities will be focused on the development of professional skills in tourism and at the same time on connecting the activities of tourism organizations, professional associations and secondary vocational schools. We do not forget to support the lifelong learning of teachers.

In the field of sports, education is also one of the strategic priorities of the Ministry. It focuses mainly on the development of talents, systematic work with youth and improving the quality of coaches and experts in the field of sports. The Ministry supports educational programs that focus on modern training methods and methodologies, as well as training in sports management and sports psychology. The aim is to create high-quality learning platforms that will enable the growth of professionals at all levels of the sports hierarchy.

Vláda SR prijme pre oblasť cestovného ruchu Stratégiu rozvoja udržateľného cestovného ruchu 2035, ktorá určí konkrétne strategické ciele, nástroje a úlohy v cestovnom ruchu.
