Reaction to the statement of the MPs of the Slovakia Movement

We strongly reject the demagogic statements of the representatives of the Slovakia Movement. They did not even study the basic information about the functioning of the Tourism Support Fund or the Sports Support Fund. If they devoted even a minimum of time to it, they would know that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports appoints two of the nine members to the Board of Directors of the Tourism Support Fund. The others are nominated by interest organizations in tourism, ZMOS, self-governing regions and the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic. In the Sports Support Fund, it is similar, where the Ministry of Tourism and Sport nominates three members out of eleven. Other members are appointed by sports associations, ZMOS and the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.

No call on the Tourism Support Fund has been approved. This means that there is no challenge. We have no idea where MPs Šipoš and Pročko got the information they presented from, but it is not based on the truth.

This clearly shows that MPs Šipoš and Pročko do not even have basic knowledge of how the funds work. Again, this is just an accusation without any evidence. As far as the national lottery company TIPOS is concerned, a total of 200 different projects were supported, including various folklore festivals. The Minister of Tourism and Sport, Ing. Rudolf Huliak, expresses his full support to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Support Fund, Mgr. Ján Dováľa, MBA, LL.M.

The statements of the representatives of the Slovakia Movement are misleading, deceptive and not based on reality. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports strongly rejects any accusations of manipulating calls or allocating money based on party affiliation. We consider the speech of MPs Šipoš and Pročko to be an embarrassing political theater.
